national Tournament levels.

My first two shoots as a local competitor, I won; and I’ve been shooting national ASA, IBO, and Indoor shoots as well. Currently, I have killed well over 100 Whitetails with two Alabama deer in the 140’s, 8 hogs, and countless squirrels, rabbits, as well as 2 turkeys.

I have competed on average in at least 15 tournaments per year with exception to the 2007 season (when our family was relocating back to our home state.)

In 2008, I won several BHA events and finished 2nd in the Central Zone ASA qualifier.

Personal History

I have been married for the last 12 years to Cindy Ward. She and I raised two daughters, Hope and Haley, from my first marriage. We enjoy participating in our church choir as well as singing at community events. Cindy is a classically trained musician and teaches private lessons. I, on the other hand, spend as much time in the woods (as much as work and family obligations allow) preferably with a bow in-hand.

I have served in my current job with South Central Steel of Harpersville, Alabama since February, 2007. I have been involved with all levels of the Structural Steel fabrication Industry since 1972, and have served in all capacities. As natives of Alabama, my wife and I enjoy living close to our children and especially our Grandsons!!

Archery History

My love for archery began in 1963 in Montgomery, Alabama with a Pearson long bow and a round bale target that was just off the football field at the East YMCA. Proceeds from my first job with Baskins-Robbins at age 16, yielded my first Bear Grizzly recurve that I still own. I have spent many hours roaming fields, shooting Judo points at stumps and small game. Only in the 5 years did I realize what opportunities I had missed.
