My name is Rob Cadeau. I am 39 years old, and live in Kitchener, Ontario with my lovely wife of 17 years, Carol. We have two wonderful kids, our daughter Casey – 15, and son Billy – 14. I work in the automotive manufacturing industry, and I have been a big game hunting and fishing guide for over 15 years as the owner of Northern Outdoors Canada Guide Service. I have successfully hunted all four of Ontario’s big game animals (moose, deer, bear, and turkey) with a bow, and many years have harvested all four in the same year, known as the “Ontario Slam”. I have been a bowhunter for 19 years. I have also guided many people to their own trophy animals.
I started out shooting 3D in 2000 as practice for hunting. Since then, I have become a very accomplished 3D archer in Ontario, with many wins and top three finishes in the most competitive class in Ontario (MBR). I am also very active in my local club, the Elmira and District Rod and Gun. I spend a lot of time in the local archery shop, The Bow Shop at Shooter’s Choice, helping customers and setting up equipment for them. I do not shoot for this store, or work there; I just like to help out fellow archers.
I have helped to get many people started in archery, starting with my wife and kids, all the way up to teaching an Ontario Federation of Anglers and Hunters - Women in the Outdoors Weekend (WOW), where I volunteered my time to teach over 40 women the basics of shooting compound bows, recurve bows, and crossbows over a two day weekend. I am also involved with the Orangeville Ontario chapter of the NWTF, and volunteer my time to guide children on turkey hunting trips in the spring.
