![]() I have been shooting a bow since 1974 and competitive archery from 1975 to 1997 time off was due to my career. I got into archery because I lost my father to cancer at a young age and was given a used bow from my mother’s friend, some 34 years ago (knowing my love for hunting and the outdoors). Seeing right off how I loved to shoot, they insisted that I attend a local archery shoot. A couple weeks later, I went to the shoot with some friends. I didn’t win, but I had found a new passion. I started at that point to go every weekend to any event within a 2-hour drive. That fall I started archery hunting and was successful in harvesting my 1st doe. Man was I ever hooked!!! The next year, I took up right where I had left off. I attended an event somewhere every weekend. I since then have taken time off from the ASA and IBO tournaments due to my career and giving my FREE time to Hunter Education Classes. I have gotten back into the tournament shooting this year to start promoting the sport I love so much!!!! I have also been successful on archery hunts since the first year by harvesting 93 deer in which most were bucks with one of them rough scoring better than 130 P&Y. Also, along with this success I have been able to harvest 2 turkeys, 3 pinewood rutters (Hogs), and 1 4x4 mule deer…It’s like Heaven on Earth!!!
